Description
You are bidding on a very rare original antique engraving from an 1870s French illustrated journal.It depicts an Irish Red and White Setter, as they looked a century and a half ago
The caption reads: Le setter Irlandais blanc et rouge ou blanc et brique
which roughly translates to: Irish White and Red Setter or White and Brick [red] Setter
It is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 10.5 x 14.5 inches (26.5 x 36.5 cm). The picture area is about
7 x 5.75 inches (18 x 14.5 cm), with a French caption below and text surrounding it. The text could easily be trimmed before framing, or hidden under a window mat.
The page is in excellent condition for its age.
