Impressive International Sterling Silver Octagonal Serving Tray Huge Size
Presented is an impressive sterling silver serving tray, by Barbour
Silver/International. The tray is done in a handsome octagonal form, with
cut-out handles on either end. The tray is fabulously hand engraved around its
edge with a design of flowers and scrolled leaves. The center of the tray has an
octagonal cartouche, bordered by the same flower and foliate scroll design as
the tray's edge. The cartouche has a monogram of CCH in elegant interwoven
script. This is a good large tray, easily able to accommodate a six piece tea
set.
This piece is in great condition. The details of the hand engraved designs
are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no cracks, no
monogram removals, and no repairs.
The tray is stamped on the underside with the maker's mark for Barbour Silver
Co, a division of International Silver Co, whose mark is also present. Beside
that, the tray is stamped sterling. Across from these stamps, the tray is
stamped 24in and a product number 1317E/II
The tray measures about 24 by 18 inches.
This tray weighs 3570 grams or 125.9 regular ounces.
