They are all VERY shinny, they were difficult to photograph due to the light reflection. They were hand painted in Japan, maybe occupied Japan. There is no paint loss. For your consideration is a wonderful set of 4 porcelain Schnauzers that will become the topic of conversation when your friends see them on display. They were hand painted and then covered with a very shinny glaze. The tallest one proudly stands about 4" to the top of the ears and they are about 4-1/2" long. The bottoms are all marked with the single word JAPAN to ensure authenticity.
