Description:A Traditional Sterling Silver Salver Tray made by Atkin Bros, Sheffield England 1958. It large 14.5 inches across and stands 2 inches off the table. Circular with molded and curvilinear pie crust rim. Rests on 4 volute scrolls. A beautiful piece in the old style. Hallmarked and weighs 44.11 Troy Ounces. It was a gift to a family in Fair Haven New Jersey for their generosity as hosts to a group from Australia. Many are famous football players. It is
inscribed
: "A tribute to our sterling friends Carmen and Newton Rice with sterling Christmas 1959 wishes from their friends down under in Australia who have enjoyed their sterling hospitality." and signature of each guest:
